Ketuhar @ Menara Ruyi

A santan-saturated kerabu salad of banana blossoms (RM16), lamb shoulder curry simmered with potatoes, cinnamon & cardamom (RM32) & steamed white rice (RM5) with sambal belacan (RM3) & sambal hijau (RM3) combine for a satisfactory lunch at Ketuhar, fuelled by the founders of Starhill's long-running Enak restaurant. Similarly focused on Malay cuisine served in an upmarket setting, Ketuhar is tucked in the calm confines of Menara Ruyi, scarcely a five-minute drive from Mid Valley, but its discreet location makes it a potential destination for patrons who dream of eluding the crowds. Service is affable & astute.

  1. Malay/Malaysian cuisine is going into fine dining now, eh? No tablecloth, fine linen?

  2. No wonder the first dish looked familiar...coz I had the banana blossom salad before in Enak KL (but the flavours were too funky for me). So, are they specialising in ketuhar (as in oven) dishes here? ;)

    1. Contact.ewew: ooo, they do a lot of different dishes here, so I don't think they specifically specialise in one genre of cooking - similar to Enak's versatility ;)
