Moutou @ Lorong Panggung

Billed as an artists-run community space, this rooftop venue is a distinctive destination for cracking open a beer - or sipping on tea and coffee - while enjoying the evening in an urban herb-farm setting. Barbecue nights and live musical performances are among the events often staged here.

Moutou requires extra effort to reach - find the weathered back-alley entrance, then climb several flights of stairs - but that's part of the experience.

Moutou
Rooftop, 8, Lorong Panggung, Near Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur. Open Tuesday-Sunday, 5pm-11pm.

    1. Suituapui: yep, there’ve been rumblings of redevelopment on this street, but hopefully places like these can be preserved ...

  2. Oh! I really like this. I think it is so beautiful. But with our hot weather, it might be a sweaty affair to hangout there.

    1. Suituapui: you're totally right - we were sweating quite a bit, so we only stayed for 15 mins in the end :)
